Naming Policy Consultation
21/11/2019
The Dietitians Board is seeking feedback on its proposed Naming Policy.
The new Naming Policy outlines how the Board may publish the name of a dietitian and the details of an order or direction made about that dietitian under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCAA).
The need for the Board to develop this Naming Policy results from an amendment made by Parliament to the HPCAA earlier this year.
The amendment requires the Board and other authorities operating under the Act to publish a Naming Policy.
The Naming Policy is required to set out the principles and considerations that the Board must take into account when considering whether to publish an order or direction and to name the dietitian concerned.
We invite your feedback
The proposed Naming Policy is HERE.
Submissions are due Friday 25 January 2020 and should be sent to:

Dietitians Board Fee Consultation
In September 2019 the Dietitians Board invited practitioners and stakeholders to comment on the Board’s proposed changes to Annual Practising Certificate (APC) fees and other fees.
You can find the consultation document HERE.
Each year the Board considers whether the fees it has set remain appropriate and sufficient to enable it to meet its operational and regulatory obligations. The last time fees were consulted on was in 2015.
The Board undertook a robust review of current fees which are calculated on a full cost recovery basis which is the philosophy established by the office of the Auditor-General and the Treasury, of good practice guidelines.
The review focussed on whether the Board is both sufficiently recovering costs for all services provided, and, if it can continue to undertake all the functions required of the Board under the HPCA Act (2003).
The outcome of the fee consultation was officially gazetted on 18 December 2019, titled Dietitians Board (Fees) Notice 2019. A letter of confirmation from the Chairperson was sent to all practitioners and is available HERE.
